One of my biggest goals this year is to appreciate life and live it to its fullest. And by saying "fullest" I don't mean perfection, I mean gratitude. I choose to be thankful for the gifts God grants me. I choose to see the beauties that surround me. I choose to believe that those who love me do so without expectation or regret. I choose to express my love more freely. I desire to love the woman I am becoming. I say the woman I am "becoming" rather then the woman I "am", because right now, I am a work in progress. There is a part of me that once was, that I feel is no more. I long to find this being. There is a part of me that "is" that I desire to become "was". I promise, I know what I'm trying to say, even if my laptop doesn't know how to type it!

From this day forward, I commit to myself and to my family to be the best me there is. I don't promise to be "The Best" but rather "My Best", because when I fall short, which I know I will, I need to know that I'm still ok. Farewell to bad attitudes. So long to negative thoughts. Adios to hiding or running away.

Join me on this journey. With head held high and a knowledge and vision of who I can become, I accept the challenge..."Be strong and of a good courage."

Darts, Wildcats, Spartans and Chargers!

Well...now that summer's come and gone we find ourselves back in school and back in school we are. This year we are at 4 different schools!

Jason got transferred this year and will be teaching at Davis High School, he's the dart!! He's had fun getting to know the kids as well as the staff. This is the largest staff he's been with, 16 teachers and 2 secretaries. We all like that his commute is so much closer!!

I'm back at Weber State University. "GO WILDCATS!" I see a small light at the end of this tunnel. If I play my cards right, I'll have my associates this spring! This is exciting for me...it's been alot of work! I really should've figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up, BEFORE I grew up!! Oh well...we've made it and now we'll just wait and see how long it takes to get into the actual nursing program. Once that starts I'll have two years and be D.O.N.E.

Taylorann is this family's first Spartan!! She's in her first year of Jr. High. She's really luck cuz they just rebuilt the new South Ogden Jr. High. It's a beautiful school. She's already tried out for the softball team and was actually really happy she didn't make it cuz that meant she could try out for the school play!! She's such a positive, happy person!! She is having such a great time meeting and making new friends. She made me laugh the other day when she told me how shocked she was to hear so many boys with "deep voices". lol!

Karson is a big 'ol third grader! His teacher is a new teacher at the Charger's school and she seems really strict and really fun. Funny, I'll never forget my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Burquist!! boy was she strict!! Karson's happy to be back into the routine of things. He started his first year of tackle football and needless to say, has loved every minute of it!

Jaxon...cute little jaxon is just along for the ride. He loves to be on the go wherever everyone else is. He's so content to ride in the van and be bounced from one activity to another. We almost had him enrolled in a daycare program right by our house, but...well...this mom wasn't ready for that yet!! Knowing he's our baby, I wanna hang on just a little bit longer!! Once I get into the nursing program we won't have a choice but to send him to school all day, every day, so for now...we'll just make things work!!

As crazy as things are right now, I really love where I'm at. I'm proud of my kids and the choices they make. Could they make better ones, sure, but couldn't we all. It's so easy to let the day to day things overwhelm and exhaust, but in the end, what's really important!

Things get so busy sometimes, there are days where jason leaves for work, I leave for work before he gets home, work a graveyard and come home just in time for him to leave for work. He gets home just after i've left for school, a few more days/night's like this and before you know it, the week is over!!

Hang in there...

Grrr...

I wish I could navigate this bolgging thing a little more productively. The tradition in my family is girls, girls, and more girls. My grandma B. came from a family of 4 daughters, she had 4 daughters, my mom had 3 daughters and my older sister Nisha has 4 daughters. (I honestly hope one of her daughters has all girls. Just for tradition's sake!)
There is a special bond between sisters, and this bond what testified to me in a most humble way! As my grandma's sister, my Aunt Carol, battles cancer, I watched the tenderness and grace my grandma offered as she helped her sister walk across the lawn to the house. The manner in which she held her, it was as if to say, "Sis, I know you can do it, but I'm here if you need me!" <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEEum7avD-I/AAAAAAAAAyQ/X2BbLPTIQVM/s200/summer+2010+287.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494724266688450530" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEEumT1Iu1I/AAAAAAAAAyI/UgBhL2DV5qI/s200/summer+2010+297.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494724256061766482" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEEul1IqdSI/AAAAAAAAAyA/1LX4OTgcArw/s200/summer+2010+299.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494724247822169378" />
It was one of those lessons that you learn where no word is spoken, no script is read and the heart hears more than the ears!! Right out of the jar!! There's not a one of us who doesn't delight in digging for a big ol scoop and enjoying pure delight! This includes Jaxon!! I didn't even know he liked this till one day, despite all my attempts to quiet the whining, I was surprised when Jason said to me, "he just wants some Peanut Butter." He opens the lid, scoops out the goop, and hands over the spoon. Jaxon's scowl was replaced with a smile and the whining replaced with lip smacking!! Jax had ZERO complaints.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEKPF48XSbI/AAAAAAAAAyg/B089R2giFbM/s200/DSCN2981.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495111826693114290" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEKPFekSYaI/AAAAAAAAAyY/LmHoVA2AENA/s200/DSCN2982.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5495111819612807586" /> LOVE THIS DUDE!!

My country tis of thee...

I love, love, love the fourth of July! In all honesty, i love our celebrations of the 4th more so than Christmas! Between Jason and I, we rotate our family celebrations with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even Easter, just to try and minimize the "stress" of being to both families. However, there is no negotiating with the 4th. It's crazy and hectic, and I love every minute of it!

Our celebrations start in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, UT. We either camp the night of the 3rd or just drive down the early hours of the 4th. This year, Taylorann went down on the 3rd with aunt Janni and miss ab's. J was brave enough to take 3 of Nisha's girls as well as abby and tay to the Rodeo!! thank you J!!!

Jason, Karson, Jaxon and I woke up around 0530 and headed out about 0600. The drive was beautiful. We went through Thistle Canyon which we haven't done for years. Both Karson and Jaxon stayed awake the whole drive!

We got to the park just in time to see janni, tay and abs. Mom, dad, Grandma B, riss and rand. Nisha, Steve and the other girls were on their way. Deon and her crew were there. Clark and Daralyn came also. It's tradition to eat breakfast at the park. Mom and Dad pay for each of us and our families. It seems the community rotates every year who will serve, This year was the IHC hospital employees. Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, juice and milk!! YUMMMM
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBqwD3cpUI/AAAAAAAAAv4/MvoWyZPAh6U/s320/summer+2010+078.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494508919296140610" />

After breakfast we cruise the park checking out the different booths and concessions. This year mom, janni and abs did the spray on tat's. Abby had fun riding the mechanical bull!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBtHI9IH4I/AAAAAAAAAwI/p5HrWmIBb-0/s320/summer+2010+257.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494511514822385538" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBtGq_4qQI/AAAAAAAAAwA/FAw8eP7GoKY/s320/summer+2010+256.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494511506780891394" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBtHu8zPwI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/fdBZWJPyuDY/s320/summer+2010+124.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494511525021564674" />
Now we head to aunt Deon's to get ready for the parade. I took Tay and Kars with me, while Jason stayed home with Jax for a much needed nap! They have a children's parade which Rissa, Randa, Madison and Kayla got to ride in this year. They had their bikes all decked out. Kay went about half way, once she passed us she flipped a U-E and said she was done! The "real" parade started at 11:30. By this time, everyone's arrived Brett, Justin and Kayle and their families. Chan and her clan. And this year...sweet aunt Carol made it. What a blessing to have her and her daughter and SIL!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBwbxFHZ6I/AAAAAAAAAwo/p_-GarybHsg/s200/summer+2010+259.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494515167725578146" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBwbUgMt9I/AAAAAAAAAwg/DYEgTJ8DGzM/s200/summer+2010+268.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494515160054544338" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEBwa3S1XJI/AAAAAAAAAwY/tYBvtwABtuY/s200/summer+2010+270.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494515152213859474" />

We stand with hand on heart to honor the flag and the soldier's who carry it! It's hard to keep the tears away! Uncle Erwin rides on the vehicle with the "town vets". GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS THE SOLDIERS THAT SERVE HER!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEB0kYitFkI/AAAAAAAAAxI/4AffjXPDXpI/s200/summer+2010+274.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494519713804129858" />
This is a small town parade so they still throw candy. We were all so excited to see Uncle Erwin throwing the Salt Water taffy!! Thinking he was gonna "hook us up!" (note to uncle E. have a pair of scissors handy next year so you can get the bag open!! those 3 pieces you threw out didn't go too far!!)

The parade ends and it's back to aunt deon's for food prep and water fun. Aunt D has an irragation ditch that run's through the front yard. The kids love it!! Jax got in on the fun this year!! Lunch was perfect as always. Marinated Moroni Turkey, salads, fruit, home made root beer and of course, dessert!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEB0j6rDJOI/AAAAAAAAAxA/qr6SUqc8J6A/s200/summer+2010+328.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494519705786066146" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEB0jThuf0I/AAAAAAAAAw4/oKHqzcWo2ic/s200/summer+2010+315.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494519695277981506" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEB0i0ODtBI/AAAAAAAAAww/KIMTlfJmnhQ/s200/summer+2010+277.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494519686873986066" />

After some great fun, we pack up and get ready for more of it!! On our way to Salt Lake! Sterling and Elaine (Jason's brother's in-law's) live just above Sugarhouse Park. This is perfect cuz we get both great seating for the fireworks as well as reserved parking. This year is year 15 that Elaine has hosted such a grand event. We have been going for 13 years having missed only one time. There has to be no less than 40 guests at their home. Not to mention the 2 or 3 plates Elaine dishes and delivers to "in-bound" friends!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDdWE-TBPI/AAAAAAAAAxo/TgQhgRSJ5SI/s200/summer+2010+382.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494634916753900786" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDdVjIl-gI/AAAAAAAAAxg/mE57P_-eSLE/s200/summer+2010+377.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494634907670280706" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDdVGO8TDI/AAAAAAAAAxY/zjlX81E_Jj8/s200/summer+2010+353.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494634899912281138" />

Dinner was scrumptious! Sloppy joes, fruit, veggies, salads and amazing desserts. Uncle Russ leads the kids in games and a pre-firework, firework show! The kids are paired up for a balloon toss. Laryssa and Jax weren't too concerned about catching the balloons as they were about, holding, squeezing, tossing, and biting them!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDbzN9Y7cI/AAAAAAAAAxQ/6GftBISyQ8g/s200/summer+2010+346.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494633218358963650" />
Now it's time to move to the front lawn for the grand display!! This is the time Sterling busts out the popsicles! He has a big ol' bowl full and everyone chooses their favorite flavor or color. YUMMY!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDetgQ4FmI/AAAAAAAAAx4/VzxInaHj3DI/s200/summer+2010+396.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494636418728203874" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/TEDetJgKgdI/AAAAAAAAAxw/NNj7FuPqFp4/s200/summer+2010+391.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494636412618310098" />
The evening ends and although we tried to get on the road before the crowd, we finally make it home at 1230!! Another fun, safe and amazing holiday, celebrated and enjoyed by all!

Thank you to all my family members who have served in the military. Air Force, Marines, Utah Army Natinal Guard, and Air National Guard!! I have watched as you fight for the freedoms I enjoy. We celebrated mothers day. Janni found a scrapbook and had each of the grandkids write a page to grandma kae, sharing with her their favorite memories. The book turned out beautifully! It's so frustrating to have many good intentions and not follow through on so many things. I love blogging...it's about the only journaling I do anymore. And yet it's weeks and months before I take the time to write. I know we all have 24 hours in a day, and for the most part I feel that my hours are spent wisely. However, so many times at the end of the day, I see a sink full of dishes, wet clothes in the washer and dry ones-actually, dry wrinkly ones yet to be removed from the dryer. There's that pile lying at the foot of my bed waiting to be folded and placed. I find toothpaste remains on my bathroom countertops and in my sinks. Dirty socks, wet towels, and last nights pajamas on the bathroom rug. Dried peanut butter on the knife I just pulled out from "clean" dishes. My biomed and history homework of late have taken back seat to 6th grade plays and Jr. High Registrations. Pinewood Derby's and math reviews. Attempts at walking and of course ear infections.

This is my life...and this is my love!!

Certain events have taken place this month, which have given me the opportunity to reflect on those things which are really important in life. These moments have forced me to contemplate my testimony...my knowledge and belief in my Savior and in my Heavenly Father's plan for me. I always feel "safe" with the testimony I have, until something comes along which requires more of me. This is not to say that I doubt or question those things I know to be true...rather it is to say that I have to step off the "comfort boat" and make a conscious decision, shall I say, be proactive in those things I know and believe to be true.

I appreciate the moments in life where an event or series of events, allows me to transition from the state of "I believe, " to the declaration of, "I KNOW."

My family is my world to me. They are my breath. My sunrise. They are the reason I wake in the morning and my comfort in the shadows of night. Jason is my best friend. He is a man of integrity. He is naturally a happy person who loves to laugh. Often times I misunderstand his "teasing", but I know these are his expressions of love. He is a man of faith. His knowledge and understanding of the gospel is impressive to me, however, more impressive is his testimony. Jason with all my heart I love you. I am in love with you.

Taylorann, Karson, and Jaxon...in all my dreams I could never have imagined the joy motherhood would bring to me. It's impossible to picture my life without you. I'm not particularly happy that you are growing so quickly, but I am indeed impressed with who you are growing up to be. May I be blessed with God' grace to treat you as you deserve to be treated. To teach you those things that will protect, guide and influence you for good in this life. You have been entrusted in our care from a loving Father in Heaven, and it is my hope that I will always be worthy of your love. Thank you for teaching me lessons of forgiveness, sacrifice, patience, unconditional love, service, gratitude, and patience, (oh wait...I said that already!) My sweet babies...I love you! Yesterday, today and forever!

vacation!!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/Sy7r6C2n_aI/AAAAAAAAAhk/wBvLRuo2-2A/s320/184.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417526784204209570" />
Our family loves California and we have once again found ourselves in San Diego!!

Although Jason has always liked the University of Utah, aside from the Red Rocks- i never cared too much about them, however, Jason and I have been following the Utes faithfully since our marriage in 1997. As poor college students who could only afford game nights as our dates, what started out as desperation has become tradition that we now enjoy sharing with our kids!!

Because the Utes will be playing in the Poinsettia Bowl this year, we decided to forgo christmas gifts for the family and take a vacation to CA instead. We did this 2 years ago and it was wonderful!! We loved every minute of it!!

Today was our first day here. We stopped at "Phil's BBQ" for dinner. YUMMY!! Even taylorann, my anti-meat eater, loved the ribs!!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/Sy7pBIJWdjI/AAAAAAAAAhU/-PB-uutO1Fw/s320/158.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417523607349130802" />
Then off to the beach. I absolutely love the beach!! The kids had a riot collecting shells and "moss". Jaxon loved the sand but hated when the water came in. It really was quite cold. We plan to spend more time on Wednesday at the beach! sooo excited.

Thanks Jason for planning this trip for our family!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/Sy7r6h04mLI/AAAAAAAAAhs/wJobD5m8ipk/s320/220.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417526792518408370" />
And Jason, a special thanks for the new camera!! This honestly makes me so sad. This baby closes a chapter in our books and it's really weird, and for me, heart breaking. I felt like I got to enjoy Taylorann and Karson's baby years so much more. I was a stay at home mom and with Jason in school as well as work and a busy church calling...it really was just me and the kids so much of the time.
Baby Jax blessed our lives during at time in which I was and still am at very busy stage of my life. I work part time at the hospital in addition to attending Weber State University I am working very hard at getting accepted into the Nursing program. I feel like this last year has just flown by and try as I might, the hands of time continue to turn!!
Thank you baby Jax for your sweet spirit. You have brought something into our home that I didn't even know was missing. I have to admit, I always "felt" there was one more child out there for us, but I had no idea just who this child would be! Thank you for letting Taylorann and Karson love you the way they do. You are so patient to let them play with and teach you the things they want you to learn and do. As stressful as having a baby at this crazy point in my life should have been, you have made it wonderful and peaceful!! You have a very sweet spirit and there is indeed something special about you!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 238px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/SyfnRuBPsjI/AAAAAAAAAcw/_-87XNhQN80/s320/012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5415551368533357106" />

behind...

How is it I've gotten so far behind on my blogging? For a minute there I was doing pretty good. What happended? It couldn't have been work, or Karson's baptism, or my new calling as Activity Day leader. I'm sure it wasn't finals or that big bio-med report. It probably wasn't even Thanksgiving or christmas shopping, wrapping and hiding. I guess time just disapears whether we blog about it or not!

Saturday, November 14th: Karson's Baptism
I am so proud of Karson and the decision he made to get baptized. This boy has such a tender heart and I know he means to do well, he just gets caught up in the excitement of things sometimes. He chose to be baptized at the Granger North Stake Center. This is the same Stake Center his dad was baptized in as well as Taylorann. Our family and some wonderful friends came to support Karson.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_P-bE-mnO8iQ/Syfh9HW3SsI/AAAAAAAAAcg/YQciezI650g/s320/karson+baptism+008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5415545516999527106" />
We didn't get any photos of him in his baptism suit...things got a little crazy, but i think he's a good lookin kid. type='text'>GRATITUDE X5 CHALLENGE

I read this idea on the blog of a friend and thought i'd give it a shot. The challenge is to blog every day 5 things your grateful for that day. I imagine somedays there will be more to write about then others as some days are tougher then others, however, I'm up for the challenge! Today is my firs attempt.

1- I'm thankful it's MONDAY. Yes that's right i love mondays. Two months ago I realized working the graveyard shift at the hospital was kicking my butt, so the only other option was to work every weekend. Yep, that means every saturday and every sunday!! It's a hard one to swallow sometimes but everyone knows you do what you gotta do and I constantly remind myself, "this too shall pass." Mondays mean the weekend is over and i can get back to what i truly love and that is being home with my family!!

2- I'm thankful for the gift of a clean home Jason and the kids gave me. Coming home from work yesterday I walk into an emaculate house with dishes done, clothes folded, beds made, and toilet scrubbed. Thanks babe!!

3- I'm thankful for those slobbery kisses and take your breath away hugs I get from the kids when I get home from work. I always envied Jason for that. After a long day at work he would barely even make it through the doors before he was tripping over little ones, arms outstretched, yelling "DADDY!!" Now I get to experience this for myself. I think tay and kars have a bet to see who can squeeze mom the hardest. Although it leaves me gasping for air, I love that they love me. And then amongst the noise, I hear jax man trailing behind. Around the corner he peeks, mouth open, drool dripping, and the cutest little tongue hanging out...makes my heart swell just thinkin about it!! i love my babies!

4- I'm thankful for my health. I don't know when or if I've ever been satisfied with the body I have, but my body works and functions. I'm able to play with my children. I'm able to run on the treadmill, although the time is not what it once was. I don' wear the pant size I'd love to wear and I certainly have plenty more pounds to loose before I'm happy with my weight, but you know what...I'm learning that health is mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual!!

5- I'm thankful for this challenge. As I said before, i know some days will be easier to blog then others, but if even for a moment i take a time out and recognize my blessings, i know i'll recognize the blessings of love, friendship, happiness, health, family, work, play...so many things.

mmm mmm good!

well it's not Campbell's but I love it just the same!! I asked if she would mind if I shared this experience and she was glad to be able to share this with family and friends. These are her thoughts, she wrote down her testimony. I'm thankful for her faith and example.

My Testimony

"Today when I was cleaning my room, my mom came in and told me I needed my flu shot on Friday. Now I'm a big baby when it comes to shots. I hate shots. I always have. But any way, when my mom told me that, I got scared. I didn't know what to do. My mom just said, if you let Heavenly Father and Jesus come in to your heart, he'll help you. So when she said that I sat up and I said a prayer to Him and I asked him if He'll be with me when we did that. But I was still scared so I asked my mom if she'll say a prayer with me, and we did. What my mom said really let Heavenly Father warm my heart and I heard Him say to me that I will be there with you. After that I just started to cry. When I heard Him say that to me I knew that if I just kept my faith on Him and let Him into my heart He would be there with me."

"So I ask you to say your prayers and listen to Him because I know that our Heavenly Father will help you with whatever you need if you just let Him into your heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

This is my daughter teaching me!! Thank you tay for your faith and desire to have answers to prayers. This was a lesson put to test for me today as we watched Grandpa Payne go in for triple by-pass surgery. I let my fears get the best of me. I felt as though I were drowning. I was trying so hard to keep myself busy so I wouldn't think about how scared I was, and I kept feeling worse and more scared. I saw your note sitting on the desk and I read it again. Taylorann this brought me to my knees and there I found strength in the Lord. THANK YOU TAY!

Family and Friends: I know this is a little personal but if we can't share our faith promoting experiences with those we love who can we share them with. Let this be a lesson to us all. Be willing to listen to that still small voice. It comes in many forms, and today, it came in the sweet testimony of my taylorann.!

As a side note. Marty has come out of surgery. Things went great. He will be in ICU at St. Marks Hospital. Great Grandma B with her great grandchildren!! These are 8 out of 34!! Grandma spends April-October here in Utah and the "cold" months, October - April in CA. This woman never slows down!!! While here she travels from Utah county to Weber County to Uintah County and Sanpete County to visit with family. She also goes to Maryland to visit a daughter and often TX or AZ to visit grandchildren there. She does her best to make blessings, baptisms, family get togethers and birthday parties. I wish we could do more with the kids this summer but it looks like it's just one of those years.

We had a great 4th of July weekend, celebrating Hawaii style!! Jason's brother Russ has a great set of in-laws who put on a huge shin-dig every year!! Living right across from Sugarhouse park, they invite us up for an evening of dinner and fireworks. This year they went with a Luau theme....loved it. Kids did the hula, we had kabobs and pulled pork for dinner, cute little lei skirts! so much fun!! The fourth is my absolute favorite holiday. I even prefer it over Christmas!!

We've enjoyed a few trips to the swimming pool. The kids really enjoy the water...even jaxon had a great time getting his feet wet!!

photos will follow soon...

crush...

Finally....after waiting all year long, Taylorann got to go to work with Jason. All year she has been more than anxious to meet David. Although he no longer attends Murray High School, he still tries to stop by the seminary and enjoy a lesson here or there. His schedule is very busy and always changing at the last minute.

David told Jason he would be to school on Monday and would love to meet Taylorann and be happy to sign some photos for her. She was absolutely beside herself. We were really hoping David's schedule would allow him to show. Although she expressed an understanding that he might not be able to make it, we knew it really meant alot to her.

He was so nice and polite with taylorann. I'm sincerely thankful for the many sacrifices that are made in my behalf, so my family and I have the freedoms we enjoy. Please, if you see a man or woman in uniform, shake their hand and say thankyou...those words can never be offered to much!

We started the day out bright and early with the kids running a one mile race in Syracuse Park. It was alot of fun and they enjoyed the competition, Karson especially. Although we gave him the "pace yourself" speech the night before, as soon as race guides said "GO" who was off...eyes wide, holding breath, arms just a pumping!! He ended up running the whole mile and ran it in 7:30 min. Taylorann had a great time. She wasn't too concerned about "busting butt" and just wanted to have fun. She and Trevor, the neighbor boy just ran with each other.

We then went to Utah county to visit the gravesites. He has been a joy and a blessing in our family! It has been so fun watching taylorann and karson enjoy their roles as his sibling. Thank you baby Jax for your sweet spirit!

Karson is all boy!! He is very much into skate boarding, football, collecting and trading football cards, and finding every opportunity to tease his sister!! He has had so much fun in the first grade this year and is doing wonderful at reading. It brings joy to my heart as he expresses his love for Taylorann and Jaxon. I love the relationship we have as mom and daughter and also as friends. I'm glad she wants to spend time with me, i fear this won't always be the case! She loves life and lives it to the fullest! She is very much into Hannah Montana and has every song memorized. She loves "acting" or putting on shows. Whether it be dancing, singing, or role playing, she is always happy to have an audience. She is huge help to me and I am so thankful to her and for her!

Jason...Jason seems to find a new hobby every year. First fishing, then geo caching, then grave hunting, and most recently running. Out of the blue he tells me he's going to do the Ogden 1/2 marathon with his buddies from work. True to his word, he trained for and ran an impressive 2:31 minute 1/2 marathon! Too cool Jace!!

I myself have taken on a new role as a college student! As daunting as this was in the beginning, it has been a rewarding experience! I have enjoyed the opportunity to step outside...way outside my comfort zone and expand myself. I love my job as a CNA on the mom and baby unit. I really enjoy the people and patients I work with. More than anything I love being a wife and mother to a wonderful family. They are my life. They each play such an important part in who I am today!

Sorry for the novel but that's what happens when you have nearly 6 months of updating. We started the night out at Su Casa with Gregg and Carrie, good food/good friends. Then we hoped on trax and headed to the stadium. End result:Utah 48- BYU 24!! Jason and I had so much fun. Karson kept trying to convince me that I needed to give him my ticket. He would remind me that it was going to be cold, loud, and that I'd have to hike the stairs to row 53, I felt bad (kinda) but I kept my ticket!

Utes are 12-0 and headed to a BCS Bowel. Jason has made it clear that he is heading to the game and to make sure I have support with two week old Jaxon- he will leave Taylorann with me and is more than willing to take Karson off my hands! May I add last time he left me for the bowl game he told me it was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Oh well- what can I do. Anyway- we had a lot of fun this year and can't wait for next years season tickets to go on sale. There are a few friends we haven't been in contact with for a very long time, and can't wait to rekindle those friendships. It's been fun to "peek" into your lives through the wonderful world of blogging. This is what has enticed me to give it a shot. I love hearing how everyone is doing and am glad all is well.

As far as I can tell, Jason is finally finished with school. He graduated with his EdD in May of 2007. So far he hasn't asked to go back yet, and now that i'm in school, I'm hoping it will stay this way. He has had much fun with his new found free time, something with held for quite sometime because of school endeavors. He still enjoys teaching seminary and has many great students.

I love my job as a nurse assistant on the mother baby unit. It has only confirmed to me more the desires I have of becoming a nurse. Thus my attempt at returning to school. This has been a challenge and yet uplifting. I was afraid I was too old to go back, but really do enjoy it.

Taylorann and Karson are doing great in school. They both have good friends and wonderful teachers. We are happy to seem them work so hard to earn good grades. They both anxiously await the arrival of their baby brother this Christmas. Although he came as a huge surprise, we are adapting well and getting ready to give the baby world a try again.

Again, it will be great to hear from ya'll. Take care.
Payne Family
<img width='1' height='1' Halloween 2008

Even the rain couldn't stop these two goblins from the yearly Trick or Treating fun! This year Taylorann spent the evening with some friends from school. Movie, pizza and trick or treating. Mom was a little sad that she's already starting the "I'd rather be with my friends" stage, but excited that she has made good friends at school.

Karson took Jason around the neighborhood and scored BIG TIME!! His bag got so heavy Jason ended up calling me to come pick them up. They came home and rested for a whole 5 minutes and Karson was ready to head back out again. Jason was a good sport and took him.
